Hypnagogue: an agent that induces drowsiness or sleep.

ie. church, CEO presentations and daytime television

Also: Conference calls. Sometimes, during a particularly hypnagogic call, one must take drastic measures—such as surreptitious blog-commenting on one's laptop—to keep from nodding off.

Ahhh, there is nothing quite so soothing as the voice of GA's while curled up on a sunny patch of floor. I do love General Conference.
